Whisper......

Shhhhhh.... Imagine that I am whispering to you through this entire post.

If you don't already know the month of September represents Ovarian Cancer month.  Unlike breast cancer, the awareness of Ovarian Cancer has not made "prime time."  You will not see football players wearing teal, Duck Dynasty headbands at the corner store in teal, or entire brands that change their colors to teal for a month so that everyone is aware of the dangers related to this type of cancer.

Ovarian cancer is one of the deadliest cancers to women.  It is a cancer that can be easy to treat if caught early.  The problem with Ovarian cancer is that it 'Whispers.'  Unlike many cancers, there are very few noticeable symptoms before it reaches advanced stages.  There are, however, subtle symptoms to look out for and ways to detect the deadly disease before it reaches advanced, and ultimately deadly, stages.

My beautiful, strong, and resilient wife is very passionate about helping women of all ages understand the early symptoms of this disease.  She hopes that one day women can reduce how deadly this disease is by increasing the number of women who find their disease in early stages.

(I am still whispering .... so listen closely....)

On September 12, there is a walk in the Douglas Hills neighborhood called the Whisper Walk.  This event is one way to raise money for the awareness cause of Ovarian Cancer.  Stephanie would appreciate it if you would join us for this early morning walk.  I have included information on the walk below including event details and preregistration information.

Some of you may be thinking that September 12 is a special day already.  Yes.  It is.  September 12 is one of my favorite days of the year- 2nd only to Thanksgiving and Stephanie's anniversary of being a Survivor of cancer.  It is the first University of Louisville home football game.  For those of you going to the game (like Steph and I) please come start the tailgate party early with us.  If you are a UK fan I don't know if you have a football team or not but football is definitely not an excuse for you not to participate in this walk.

Steph has a goal of attracting the largest group to this walk. Last year one family brought 100 people.  Please help us get the largest group of participants on the 12th.
